PAT Rogers spoke to millions of listeners on the topic of organ donation yesterday.

The mum of Adam Rogers, who was killed in Blackburn town centre in 2009, was interviewed by BBC Radio 5 Live’s Nicky Campbell.

Adam was on the organ donation register and his organs helped other families after his death.

Pat told Campbell about the positive effect organ donation can have on the families left behind.

Earlier this year, Pat and Dave Rogers met up with Mark Smith – a recipient of Adam’s donated kidney and pancreas which helped transform his life.

Pat said: “Our campaign encourages young people to prepare and talk to their family just in case anything did happen then they know what their wishes are.

“When you are making that decision you are at your absolute worst.

“Even though it is difficult, if you know it is their wish then it makes it easier. It has given us such comfort since we lost Adam.

“For anybody in that situation, tell them they get so much from it afterwards.”

The debate was started by calls for the Government to offer incentives to those on the organ donor register.
