A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with an assault on a student with long hair.
Harley Davies, 17, was told to ‘get his hair cut’ before being beaten and kicked on the floor in the grounds of Blackburn College last Tuesday lunchtime.
He suffered a fractured jaw and chipped tooth. Campaigners branded it a ‘hate crime’ because Harley was targeted solely for his appearance.
Witnesses have come forward and police are continuing their investigations into tracing the gang behind the attack.
A 16-year-old boy was questioned this week about the beating and released on bail pending further inquiries.
The three main offenders were part of a group of Asian teenagers aged between 16 and 19.
DS Simon Upton said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked assault on a young man and we need the public’s help to catch those responsible.”
