A DISCOUNT clothing store set to move into Blackburn has revealed more than 1,500 people turned up to a job fair in just six hours.
QS Discount, set to open in November at the Peel Centre, Lower Audley Street, held the fair at Blackburn job centre on Wednesday, September 20.
The new store will create 50 new jobs at a site formerly occupied by JJB Sports. QS Discount also has stores in Atherton, Chorley and Sale.
Tony Breen, of QS Discount, said: "That was just incredible and has to go down as the best recruitment event in the company's history.
"We've opened new stores before and always enjoyed a healthy interest in our company's career opportunities - but we've never had a response like this.
"And it wasn't just the number of applicants but the quality too. It's a shame we're not opening more stores in the area so we could give them all a job."
