POLICE in Nelson are appealing for information about a woman who has been missing from home for two weeks.

Ruth Sumner, 43, has not been seen since 9am on Thursday, July 19 when she left friend’s address on Victory Close, Nelson where she had been staying.

Miss Sumner has only just returned to Nelson after living in Nottingham and police are concerned for her welfare.

PC Peter Chattle said: “We are concerned for Ruth’s welfare and would ask anybody that has seen Ruth in the last two weeks, been in contact with her or with any information about her current whereabouts to contact police on 101.”

Ruth is white, around 5ft 5ins tall with long black hair.

The last confirmed sighting of her was in Burnley Town Centre on 26th July. Police are urging people to be vigilant and report any sightings to police.
