A TEENAGER suffered a broken jaw when he was punched in the face in Oswaldtwistle.
The 15-year-old victim was cycling along Melbourne Street when he was approached by two teenagers, one boy and one girl. The boy punched him in the face, causing him to fall from his bike, before both ran away.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
DC David Gill, of Accrington CID, said: “This was a nasty, seemingly unprovoked assault which left the victim with a serious injury, and I am keen to trace the people responsible.
“If anyone was in the area and saw what happened, or has any other information that might assist with the investigation, then I would urge them to get in touch.”
Details of the incident, on July 3, have only just been released by police. Call police on 101.
