A MAN has been found dead inside his Chorley home.
The discovery was made after police forced entry to a house in Granville Road, close to Eaves Lane, at around 12.30pm.
Officers acted after concerns were raised about the welfare of the man, who was in his early 60s.
Evidence of a fire inside the property was also discovered.
The death is being treated as unexplained.
A police spokesman said: "We got a call from the man's landlord saying he could not get in.
"The windows were blackened as if there had been a fire and officers could not see inside.
"Entry was gained and the man was found, sadly deceased, and there was evidence of a small fire."
A multi-agency meeting will be held tomorrow as an investigation gets underway.
