May I thank through your Opinion column the persons responsible for the new road sign which has appeared on Burnley Road, Blackburn (near to the junction of Leicester Road).
The sign states: ‘Blackburn. A Lancashire town.’ I have found this sign to be exceptionally useful as I have, on many occasions, ended up looking for my home in Blackburn near Edinburgh, 300 miles north.
These people could have wasted the hundreds of pounds this usefully new road must have cost by filling in the growing number of potholes in the borough and left me and my lack of navigation skills to my own devices.
