Preston student cops graduate to the beat

THE first police recruits to complete a new foundation policing degree have joined the county’s constabulary this week.
The two-year University of Central Lancashire degree, the first professional policing qualification for Lancashire recruits, began in September 2007.
The degree focusses not only on law, but also community policing and gives a wider understanding of the police role in diverse communities.
