Three hunted after racist attack on Preston to Blackburn train

THREE people, including a mother and daughter, are being hunted by police after racially abusing and then assaulting an Asian woman on a train.
Following a prolonged verbal tirade the 18-year-old woman was grabbed by her hair and dragged backwards before being slammed against some doors.
The woman was travelling with her friend on a train from Preston to Blackburn when the incident occurred.
Police Constable Steve Dav-ies, who is leading the inquiry for British Transport Police, said: “This type and level of abuse and violence is totally unacceptable and has no place on the railway.
“BTP is committed to tackling all forms of hate and race crime and we will do everything in our power to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
Police said a man and a woman sat opposite the friends and the man began making abusive comments.
As the train arrived in Blackburn and the friends got up to leave they were further insulted by a mother and her daughter who were also seated nearby.
The daughter then assaulted the woman.
The man who sat opposite the friends was described as being white, about 5ft8in tall, slim, with blonde hair and a gold tooth.
He was wearing a white jacket, white tracksuit and had several gold rings.
The mother who further abused the friends was white, 5ft3ins tall, had black curly hair and was dressed in black with dark make-up.
Her daughter, who carried out the assault, was about 18-21 years old, 5ft7in tall, had brown hair – tied back in a pony tail – and was wearing a blue and white tracksuit.
The incident happened at 1pm last Friday but police have only just released the details.

Im sure there must have been other passengers on the train who could have rang the police and had them waiting on the train platform for the chavs.
Whethers its Asians beating up Whites, or Whites beating up Asians, they all chavs. They need to be tied up and the same done to them, colour of your skin should not matter.
Hope the Police catch up with these people and sort them out

Totally agree. This type of anti social behaviour, whoever the perpetrators are, has no place in a civilised society. I blame the parents for not instilling the correct values at an early age. In this case, it looks as if the parent has also been involved. Pathetic

They are supposed to treat a murder as life in the cells for the immoral criminals. Attacks as such should have a jail sentence of 5 years and burglaries if it was me I would cut the culprits hands off then such crimes would be justifiable.

This is the second such incident reported in the LET in the last 2 weeks.
A family was also abused on the
NORTHERN RAIL service from Preston to Blackburn.
NORTHERN RAIL have a duty of care towards its passengers.
NORTHERN RAIL guards need better training to interevene and report.
NORTHERN RAIL needs to install cctv.
The fact it happened during broad ddaylight and no one intervened is a shame.
If this type of incident occurs to anyone on a NORTHRN RAIL service to Blackburn then inform the guard and ask himto ring the police who will arrive within 5 minutes.
if it happens to anyone the guard will keep the train stopped at Blackburn until the police arrive if he is told of the scumbags causing problems.
NORTHERN RAIL management wake up and solve this recuring problem.

If you claim to suffer racial abuse from anyone then report it to the POLICE. unless of course that is beyond you or you have a warrant for your arrest outstanding!!!

Verbally abusing someone is one thing but to physically assault them is more serious and as you said you only have been racially abused.

I've been verbally abused on a train - including national rail - and I have also been struck in my chest by a piece of scum. Just sitting there and a piece of excrement decides to start for some unfathomable reason. Moving away or seats wasn't an option on a packed train. Did the conductor do anything or any of the other passengers. No!
By the same expedient I am forever seeing cretins on public transport lately who seem to want to live to be abusive. Alcohol has a lot to do with it, but so, too, does drug taking. Particularly along the routes concerned where the towns concerned have a problem with either. Though that is not always the case, people are simply born that way.
Simple facts here are this kind of thing shouldn't be happening to anyone but some get more attention than others when it happens to them.
I have no doubt I will see more imbeciles doing the same in the next few days in the run up to Xmas on the train.

1. If the allegations are accurate and subsequently substantiated in a court of law, then these people should be dealt with accordingly. Such behaviour should not be tolerated.
2. Whilst the report spells out that two of the suspects are 'white', we never seem to read a corresponding report in the LT referring to the colour of non-white suspects; be they 'brown'; 'yellow'; 'black'. Why not? What colour would you care to describe yourself as, Nazia?
3. This was a 'racist attack'. How do we know that? Well, according to Ms. Parveen's, in flagrante delicto account, it was. Period. No room for question or qualification here. So much for due process.

THE POLICE as the investigating agency and PC Steve Davis describe it as a hate and race attack NOT the LET or the reporter.
The police are looking for these suspects and hence the need to use the media.
It is standard practice in criminal investigations!
Now it is clear that certain racist elements who inhabit this site are distorting the facts as always( a con and his aliases).Everyone can see that.
Agree totally with "Andy1". A con and his nazi mates are on a losing streak all the way up to next election when they will be beaten by the ballot box. People are fighting fascists and winning. BYdoing this we can ALL help to reduce the number of hate and race attacks
UAF (Unite Against Fascism) are doing a fantastic job to create a more harmonious society.

It is the role of the police to investigate, the CPS to prosecute and a tribunal of fact to decide guilt or innocence. It is not for a failing local newspaper nor its readers to make that call.
Just to put things in to topical perspective, this is how the LT reported the murder of Christopher Folkes: "...It is ALLEGED that after the attack, the youth bragged to pals he had won a fight with a white lad around his own age..." (My emphasis). This is how Nazia Parveen reported, without qualification or quotations the ALLEGED racially aggravated assault on an 'Asian' woman: "...Three hunted after racist attack on Preston to Blackburn train...". That's not reporting, that's an allegation.
Why the discrepancy Nazia?
