"Lancashire railway death causing long delays"

Not the most heartfelt of headlines, is it?

No doubt whoever wrote that headline would have written " Bodies on beaches spoiling holiday season " to describe D-Day.

Yeah, really sympathetic given "the body" is someone's relative. Also the feelings of the train driver who struck this person and the emergency services who dealt with the incident.

By Leyland train station, I presume reference is being made to Leyland Railway Station using American English?

Well considering it was not at Leyland, it was at the Ribble Bridge just outside Preston station. Unless it was TWO seperate incidents, but given the timing of the report, I doubt it.
.
Also, I understand it was a member of rail staff struck by a train. Condolences to the traincrew, who probably knew the guy that was struck.
.
A sad day.
