Two men arrested after shots were fired in a Preston street have been remanded to await trial on attempted murder charges.

Ryan Malik and Daniel Nicholls, both 20, of Guildford Road in the city appeared before Preston Crown court and both pleaded not guilty to three charges of attempted murder.

The offences are alleged to have been committed on June 3 when shots were fired at a car parked in Tenby Road, Avenham, The two men also deny possession of a firearm or imitation firearm, a handgun with intent to cause fear of violence, on the same date.

The Recorder of Preston Judge Anthony Russell QC fixed a trial date of December 5.

It is expected to last ten days.

Both defendants were remanded in custody.
