Brawlers with an axe and a hammer clashed on a Preston street leaving three people in hospital.

Six people were fighting in Parkfield Drive, Lea, at 8pm, on Sunday night.

Two men, aged 25 and 48 and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and have been released on bail until April 18.

DI Dave McKenna, of Preston Police, said: "The residents were fighting each other and an axe and a hammer were found at the scene.

"Three people required hospital treatment for head wounds which are not life-threatening.

"We are appealing for anybody who may have seen what happened or know of a motive.

"There will probably be more people who saw what was happening from that area."

Anyone with information should call Preston Police on 01772 203203 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
