A 31-year-old Gambian man living in Leyland caught with a false passport has been remanded in custody.
Momodou Lamin Sanneh, of Stanifield Lane, Farington, was found by police on Monday with a Belgian passport believed to be a fake.
Officers contacted the UK Border Agency and a document was produced to prove the man’s identity.
The UK Border Agency charged Sanneh with possession of a forged document.
Sanneh appeared at Ormskirk Magistrates' Court the following day and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at Preston Crown Court on July 21.
