Longton motorcyclist killed in crash named

A motorcyclist killed in a crash in Lancashire has been named.

Ian Bottomley, 52, from Longton, was involved in an accident on the A683, Hornby to Melling road, near Lancaster on Saturday, shortly after 11am He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident, however inquiries are ongoing and witnesses are sought.
