Value supermarket Netto, which has stores in Leyland and Chorley, has extended its weekend opening hours at 18 of its stores across Lancashire.

Selected Netto supermarkets, including the Chorley store in Water Street and the Leyland branch in Towngate, will now remain open until 8pm on a Saturday, rather than the previous time of 6pm.

Explains Netto's managing director Richard Lancaster: "The move is in response to customer feedback we've had over the last few months. Shoppers simply wanted to have more time to shop with us and access the hundreds of great value products we have rather than having to travel to another store after 6pm, where they typically have to pay more for their shopping.

"At the same time, we will also be launching a cigarette and tobacco range in selected stores to give our customers even more choice, value and convenience.

"This is another demonstration of our constant efforts to add new products and widen ranges to further meet our customers' wishes and needs.

"As the UK's fastest growing supermarket, it's imperative that we give all of our customers increased flexibility and convenience using a variety of measures from extending our weekend opening hours through to providing a wide range of famous brands, quality own label goods and non-food products every day of the year."

All Netto stores are open until 8pm and weekdays and 4pm on Sundays.
