Online designs for Bamber Bridge cake lovers

People in Bamber Bridge will be among the first in the country to try out a new online-designed cake concept.

Greencore Cakes and Desserts, in partnership with Sainsbury's, are launching an new online photocake concept which will enable customers to combine a number of fun images including Disney characters with personal photographs in their own cake design.

Designyourcake.co.uk has licensed designs including Disney High School Musical, Cars, Toystory, Thomas and Friends, Angelina Ballerina and Purple Ronnie, plus designs for a range of occasions.

Twenty Sainsbury's stores will stock the new cakes, including the Bamber Bridge store.

Local customers will be able to create a personalised cake design, by first purchasing a cake in store, then logging-on to create a customised edible design transfer, which will arrive by first class post.

The finished design is printed onto an edible sheet using edible inks and is delivered in robust packaging to the customer's chosen address.

On receipt, the customer simply moistens the cake and lays the edible sheet on top. Cakes are available in store from now until the June 3.
