A 28-year-old Penwortham man is to be sentenced next month after admitting neglecting two young boys.

Lee Woods, of Hawkesbury Drive, Penwortham, pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to two offences of child cruelty in Wigan on February 29 this year.

Harry Pepper, prosecuting, told the court that the offences involve Woods neglecting the children, aged one and two, while he was drunk and exposing them to risk.

The younger boy did suffer a minor injury, he said.

Woods was remanded on bail and will appear again before Liverpool Crown Court on July 10 for sentencing.
