A DEDICATED father cycled the length of the country and raised more than £16,500 for a charity helping his two-year-old albino son, George.
Chris Humphrey, 32, of Wendover, was joined by brother-in-law, Dr Mark Bayliss in the ride from Land's End to John O'Groats, which raised money for the Albinisim Fellowship.
George's grandparents, Dorothy and David Bayliss live in Ledborough Lane, Beaconsfield.
Grandmother Dorothy said: "We are absolutely delighted. The amount of money raised has exceeded all expectations. People were very generous. The two boys did so well. On one day they cycled 140 miles.
"When my son came back into the house he was walking like John Wayne. It was very hard for them.
"I'm delighted they finished it because it was a real challenge for two non-cyclists to complete. Some of our friends who are really keen cyclists could not believe they did it in such record time."
People with albinism have little or no pigment in the eyes, skin and hair and nearly always have impaired vision and sensitivity to sunlight.
George's mum Ruth, formerly of Ledborough Lane, said: "Our greatest fear for him is teasing which may well become part and parcel of his life as his fair colouring sets him apart. We're determined to give George a happy and fulfilling life."
Chris and Mark completed the 1,000 mile ride in seven days three days quicker than they hoped.
What is it about chefs that makes them want to destroy fresh crisp cabbage with some sort of redcurrant jelly?
After an Anglezarke ramble my daughter and I were famished and ready for a hearty meal so we ventured to The Robin Hood, in rural Mawdesley.
I had been trying to book a table at the White Bull for weeks - every time I was told "Sorry we're fully booked".
That close knit village feel is so tangible at The Original Farmers Arms.
I hadn't had fish and chips for ages so when I saw it on the menu at the Euxton Mills pub I jumped at it straight away for a midweek lunch, knowing I'd be working late.
