Preston residents have the chance to quiz some of the county's leading politicians later this month.

Lancashire County Council’s popular Cabinet Question Time event will be held at Barton Village Hall on Tuesday 30 September.

The panel for the evening will include Preston-based Cabinet members Tom Burns and Jennifer Mein, along with council leader Hazel Harding, deputy leader Doreen Pollitt and fellow Cabinet member Matthew Tomlinson.

The evening is a chance for people to ask questions about any of the services or projects run by the county council such as education, public transport and other issues that affect the community.

BBC Television's Dave Guest will be on hand to make sure the evening runs smoothly and that the councillors are not able to duck any tough questions.

Councillor Burns said: “The county council provides around 85 per cent of all council services in Lancashire.

"It is important that residents get the chance to voice their opinion on things that matter to them.

“The Cabinet Question Time events that have already been held were popular and always feature lots of interesting and lively discussion.

"We hope members of the public will attend to find out more about the county council’s services.”

The event starts at 7.15pm at Barton Village Hall, Garstang Road.
