Myerscough College’s Short Course Unit will be running a series of Community Gardening workshops over the next few months filled with fantastic tips and knowledge to help you get the best out of your garden this autumn.

These friendly but intense workshops are designed to be delivered theoretically with demonstrations and outdoor sessions where appropriate.

Each workshop covers a different topic and you have the option of booking all four or just attending one specific area.

The first workshop takes place on Saturday 4 October and concentrates on ‘Preparing and Managing an Allotment’ and the next workshop is on Saturday 18 October and is based on ‘Composting and Soil Improvement’.

The remaining two workshops take place on Saturday 1st November and Saturday 15 November and focus on ‘Growing Fruit Trees’ and ‘Soft and Cane Fruit’ respectively.

Myerscough College’s Short Course Manager Colin Todhunter commented: “These workshops are perfect for anybody interested in community gardening and the participants should gain a great deal of knowledge over a very short period of time.”

The workshops are all being held at Myerscough’s Preston campus in Bilsborrow and will run from 10am till 12pm at a cost of £25.

For more information or to book on a workshop contact Myerscough College’s Short Course Unit on 01995 642128.
