Train journeys between Preston and Lancaster have been disrupted after a man was hit by a high speed train near Garstang.
The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by the Birmingham to Glasgow train at about 8.55am this morning.
The train had been travelling at around 110mph when the incident happened.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said that the death wasn't being treated as suspicious.
The delays are expected to last until around 11.30am and services affected are those operated by Northern Rail, Virgin Trains and First Transpenine Express.
