Wyre Borough Council is introducing a series of emergency measures in response to the current flooding and water supply problems which are affecting some parts of the borough.
The council is working closely with Lancashire County Council, United Utlities and other organisations to ensure that residents affected by flooding or water supply problems can get the assistance they need as soon as possible.
In response to the flooding which has affected areas of the borough such as Myerscough College, the council is making provision for potential rest centres in Garstang and Fleetwood.
Regarding the problems affecting residents who are experiencing low or no water pressure in their homes, the council has worked with United Utilities to provide a number of temporary water tanks for residents in the following locations.
Skitham Lane near Lancaster Rd Rawcliffe Moss.
Westfield Ave near Blackpool Old Rd Carleton.
Greyheys Ave near Alisan Rd Poulton.
Caldervale Ave near Mossbourne Rd Poulton.
Lowick Drive near Hardhorn Rd Poulton.
Poulton Rd near Blackpool Rd Poulton.
Bracewell Ave near Garstand Rd West Poulton.
Lodge Lane near Garstand Rd Singleton.
Stoney Lane near Sandy Lane Hambleton.
Fordstone Lane near Park Lane Preesall.
Elvaston Rd near Arundel Drive Poulton.
Stakepool Dr near Garstang Rd Stake Pool.
The council is also liaising with United Utilities to provide supplies of bottled water to homes to supplement tank supplies if necessary.
Yesterday, the council's Cabinet held a special emergency meeting to discuss response measures to the current situation.
Wyre Borough Council's Leader Councillor Russell Forsyth said: "We have had two serious situations affect the borough within a number of hours and our top priority is to ensure that residents do get the help they need as soon as possible.
"We have already put a number of measures in place and we will be working closely with partner organisations over the next few hours to provide any necessary assistance that is required."
