BLACKBURN skipper Ryan Nelsen is confident his side can bounce back from last week’s Carling Cup semi final exit with a victory at home to Wigan tonight.

The New Zealander broke his Rovers goal duck in the home win over Wigan late last season and, with three already to his name this campaign, knows another victory could prove crucial.

Nelsen said: “Obviously the result was tough to take. We were so close but the spirit of the players and the attitude was there for all to see.

“Everyone was on a massive downer but you have to take the positives.

"There are not many times when you can take more positives than negatives out of a loss, but in this case you can.

“It was a good time to score because we were struggling a bit, but this game is just as important. This is a huge game and we don’t care who scores as long as we win.

“A win and the table looks a lot more promising. But I think Wigan will be thinking the same thing. It is a really important game.”
