THE Blackburn and District branch of the Pony Club is launching its new spring and summer schedule over the next few weeks and is inviting young riders to join in.

The club, which is inviting riders under the age of 21, holds events, competitions and train-ing in a variety of activities – including show jumping, dress-age, eventing, endurance rid-ing, mounted games, pony racing and pony club camp.

“Training improves your riding skills and knowledge of horse and pony care,” said district commissioner Sheila Aiken. “Blackburn has a great team of enthusiastic instruc-tors capable of teaching novices to experienced riders.

“It’s a great opportunity to improve your equestrian skills with a group of like-minded people.”

The summer riding progra-mme starts with a series of three working rallies on consec-utive Sundays, starting on April 3rd.

Anyone wishing to find out more information, a parents’ evening will be held at Tock-holes Village Hall on Friday, March 25 at 6.30pm.
