BRAVE Accrington Stanley paid the penalty as they went out of the Carling Cup last night.

Stanley went down 6-5 on spot-kicks after the sides had drawn 0-0 at extra-time.

It was tough on the Reds who had a goal disallowed against the Premiership side.

Boss John Coleman said: "It was two bad penalties which cost us.

"First by the captain and then by the vice captain.

"I expect better than that. We had an order for the first five, the sixth one was Peter Cavanagh and the seventh was Leam Richardson but Paul Mullin took it. You tell me why.

"People will say that to draw against a Premiership side is a good result but that was Watford's reserve team and we should score against them."
