ROVERS fan Glen Mullan insists supporters’ latest protest is not to signify the death of the football club, but “the death of the connection fans feel with the club”.
Supporters have been leaving floral tributes at Ewood Park since Monday night, after attempts to communicate with the board broke down.
Fans have repeatedly expressed their concerns about manager Steve Kean in recent weeks, as Rovers lie in the Premier League relegation zone.
But organiser Mullan insists their latest demonstration is against owners Venky’s, ahead of their one-year anniversary with the club.
“This protest is purely against Venky’s. It’s going to run for a few days so we hope it will have a visual impact,” said Mullan.
“It’s coming to Venky’s 12-month anniversary and we want them to explain the last 12 months. All the supporters deserve some answers.”
He added: “We have put the flowers by the Jack Walker statue as a memorial. It’s out of respect for Jack because we appreciate everything he ever did for our football team.
“With every day that goes by they take away what he did for us.
“They can’t take flowers away from the memorial.”
