CHRIS Samba could make a shock return to the Blackburn Rovers side for tomorrow's crunch Premier League clash at Wigan Athletic.

The Rovers skipper had suffered a hamstring injury in the November 5 defeat to Chelsea - the club's last outing - and was expected to be out for four to six weeks.

But Steve Kean has revealed this morning that Samba is now 'touch and go' for the DW Stadium fixture after returning to first-team training.

Samba's fellow defenders Scott Dann and Michel Salgado have fully recovered from their injuries and are available for selection, although Simon Vukcevic is out after sustaining a badly broken nose on international duty for Montenegro this week.

Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz misses tomorrow's crunch clash through suspension.

The Paraguay international is beginning a three-match ban for spitting at Wolves' Richard Stearman during the Latics' loss at Molineux at fortnight ago.

Manager Roberto Martinez otherwise has a full squad to choose from with captain Gary Caldwell returning from his suspension.
