One step forward, one step back...doesn't this just remind ya of this stage last season?

Then, under Simmo, we won at home and then lost away, won away then lost at home.

Now, when relegation is on the cards, we get within touching distance of safety only to somehow end up slipping back down again.

Following up two away wins with losing on Boxing Day at home to Scunny and then defeat by the Lashers is a prime example, innit?

Last weekend it was a Norwich wonder goal in the 93rd minute. I had my first tinny cracked open in anticipation of celebrating a well-earned point!

Still, I should no better with North End. It wur just like on transfer deadline night.

There I was, with me cocoa and digestives, stuck in front of the computer till midnight only to discover Degsy and Alan Irvine had called it a day at teatime.

I said before we need a goal scorer, a big centre half and a keeper. We got the big centre half - and boy, is he big?

Lonners seems to have sorted himself out but the Norwich game underlined that we need someone to score regularly if we are to get out of this mess.

Brett Ormerod wastes a guilt-edged chance at one end and Norwich go down the other and score.....I need say no more.
