Floodlit cup ties prove highly competitive

The first three matches in the first round of the UCLanSport Floodlit Cup played at Preston Grasshoppers' Lightfoot Lane ground have now been completed and were extremely competitive.

In the first week, a determined second half fight back by St Edward’s, Liverpool just failed to overturn the half-time lead of St Ambrose, Hale Barns who went through 10-5.

An easier win for Bramhall High School, 25-10 over Merchant Taylor’s followed the week after but Hutton had to battle strongly to overcome Lymm High School 6-0 last Wednesda y.

Arnold School take on King’s Macclesfield, Wednesday, October 15, kick off 6.15 pm to see who joins the winners in the quarter-finals. Admission is free.
