Parekh bowls Preston to victory

Veteran Manoj Parekh bowled Preston to victory over bottom club Fleetwood at West Cliff, taking 7 for 39 as the visitors were dismissed for 107. Mark Emsley's 38 provided the biggest resistance. Preston were made to fight for their winning runs as Adam Breakall returned three for 27 but Yasin Patel (29) and Joe Davies (35 not out) saw Preston home.

Sajid Patel scored 101 for Preston against Barrow at West Cliff on Saturday and pro Bilal Asad hit 50 in a total of 228, but they had to be settle for a winning draw as the visitors finished on 140 for 8 with Bilal Asad claiming four wickets.

Preston had to settle for a winning draw in a match curtailed by rain at Lancaster after professional Bilal Asad had scored a superb 88 not out off 79 balls,in their total of 165-3. Lancaster finished on 91 for 3 in reply.

Preston beat Fleetwood in Twenty/20 opener

Preston beat Fleetwood by seven runs in the opening match of the 3D Sports Twenty20 competition on Thursday evening. After Preston's frontline batsmen failed to fire Jonty McDonald (21) and Omar Malik (31) helped rescue the innings and Preston finished on 116. Bilal Asad claimed the wicket of Adam Parker in Fleetwood's reply, while Javed Hussain dismissed Adam Sharrocks, but Fleetwood appeared to be heading for victory until Asad hit back taking one wicket for four runs off four overs of hostile bowling to secure a home victory for Preston.
