Preston North End's completed Deepdale stadium can now host England U21 internationals after UEFA confirmed that the stadium meets the criteria to be recognised as a Category Two venue.
The ground's increased capacity and facilities were key factors in Deepdale meeting the qualifying criteria, but North End's home ground also had to meet several other strict regulations including rules on substitutes benches, dressing rooms, floodlighting and media areas.
The English FA are now aware of Deepdale's new classification and Preston's home may be considered for U21 internationals as well as being suitable for U19 and U17 matches.
