Former Preston North End player-manager Sir Bobby Charlton has been honoured at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards.
Manchester United and England legend Sir Bobby, 71, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at a glittering ceremony in Liverpool.
The award was presented in front of a galaxy of sporting stars by Sir Bobby's brother Jack.
Sir Bobby was player-manager at Deepdale for the 1973/74 season.
Cyclist Chris Hoy scooped the main Sports Personality of the Year award whilst the British Olympic cycling team - which includes Chorley-based Bradley Wiggins - won the Team of the Year Award.
