Preston North End have allowed goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski to return to Poland after it was agreed to release him from contract by mutual consent.
The former Dundee United man arrived at Deepdale on a free transfer in early February as back-up to Andy Lonergan, but he picked up an injury in his first reserve outing and has not had the opportunity to impress the PNE management during his time at the club.
Preston boss Alan Irvine said: "It was decided that we wouldn't be offering Szamo a contract at the end of the season and rather than keep him here we've agreed that we will finish his contract now and he will return to Poland.
"It has been unfortunate for him to have picked up an injury and it ended up being more complicated than first thought and that's made it impossible for us to assess him as a goalkeeper so we feel it would be better if we keep our options open for the summer."
