Preston North End full-back Callum Davidson has signed a new three-year-deal, keeping him at Deepdale until the summer of 2011.

Davidson was contracted to North End until the end of the 2008/09 campaign and is delighted to be rewarded with an extended deal.

"It was nice that the manager thought highly enough of me this season to offer me a new deal," said Davidson.

"I sat with the chairman for a couple of minutes and things were sorted and I am absolutely delighted.

"There was no pressure, the one thing since I have been at Preston is that if you do well they will look after you.

"Obviously we can't compete with the bigger clubs but it is one of the things that makes you want to stay, when you have ten or twelve months left on your contract they come and see you and try and sort something out and it gives you that security, it also makes you feel wanted and that's a big part of being here."
