Leyland remain top of the Northern Premier League table despite having to settle for a winning draw at home to Darwen on Saturday, as the visitors finished 20 runs short of Leyland's total on 153 for 9.
Leyland professional Ameer Khan had earlier top-scored with 70 and followed up with 4 for 63.
Preston fell just 17 runs short of victory at home to Morecambe after the visitors had posted a score of 193.
Sajid Patel and Munaf Bavla both scored 48 for Preston while Yasin Patel hit 20 but in the end Preston fell to their fourth defeat of the season.
