The RNLI helped conduct an extensive search for a teenager who disappeared after jumping from a ferry
A search is under way after a teenage boy jumped from a ferry into a river.
Jordan Cobb, 16, from Plymouth, was spotted jumping from the Torpoint ferry into the River Tamar at 9.15pm on Monday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
Police, the coastguard and the RNLI conducted an extensive search for the teenager after he failed to reappear.
Officers are now appealing for information about the incident.
Chief Inspector Ian Drummond Smith said: "We are treating Jordan as a high risk missing person and we are working with the coastguard to try and locate him.
"The river was extensively searched by air and sea for several hours, but there remains a possibility that he managed to swim ashore, and I would ask anyone with information to call the police on 101."
